Cooler

Has anyone had the cooler box retro fitted? Is it possible or did your dealer charge over the odds? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Hi VA,

Just popped over from Martins other site (DISCO3).

There is a thread on this subject.

http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.ph...ofit#30481

I dont know how much it would cost but if you read the thread you will see that one dealer agreed to fit one on a second hand D3 - I would imagine that if it can be done on the D3 then it can also be done on the RRS.

I know roveractive has it for $500 but I am pretty sure he gets most of his stuff from the U.K so it might be cheaper for you.

Guys Guys//

Why bother?
We have 12v sockets everywhere..(including one in the boot!)
go into Argos and buy a mini fridge for £15 and be done with it, comes with a 12v attachment.. i have a little silver one, which i put into the boot as and when i need it, if you can find a way or nailing it down all the better, as it will tip all over the place when the boot it empty..

Come on, how often are you going to use it? as RRUK said, its bloody freezing out there anyway! LR will charge you at least £100 to fit this plus the cost of the part, AND you loose the storage space in the centre.. which is excellent space in my opinion.

Plus the cheaper fridge, it has a heat function as well.
Obviously it doesn't work as well as ur home fridge, but on a hot day it keeps the drink /food cold enough, have only used it a couple of times on longer journeys, beats the hot waterbottle out of a glovebox scenario that you come to expect in the summer!

Kam,

You don't lose any space really, you can still use the cooler box for 'stuff', but it has the added bonus that when the weather warms up (or you buy a load of ice cream and have a long journey home Laughing ) you can pop them in the box for safe keeping! L319 D4 HSE

Is the cooler always on? Or are you able to switch it off?

It is switchable, there is a little toggle switch with a bright blue light on it at the front of the cubby box, near the plastic tray insert. L319 D4 HSE

I really wouldn't bother. I have one (factory fit) and it a) doesn't work very well - certainly not as well as the £15 accessory jobs already discussed b) is annoyingly just not deep enough for those 500ml soft drink/water bottles if you keep the phone/trinket tray which the handbook says is necessary to seal in the cold. The phone tray can be inserted upside down solving the clearance problem but losing the tray. Range Rover Sport TdV6HSE in Bonatti Grey + 20" Stormer wheels (ex X5 and ML driver)
