Guys, thanks for the V prompt repies. The noise seems to me to be associated with the starter motor disengagement, but is pretty loud/metallic and only occurs on first start of the day irrespective of outside temperature (its been doing it from 1st Sep). Cheers Paul |

I have no such noise on mine. I have sometimes heard the steering clunk in access mode while reversing off our cambered driveway. Positivley no starter motor clunks ever. |

Wait for it..... Exhaust Gas Recirculating valve..... it sounds like a large 'clanging' noise...well it does on my car |
