Re differences in handling, I know they will drive differently but doesn't the FFRR S/C have uprated suspension (Anti roll bars and alike)?

507bhp eh Jay? Hmmm...

Anyone know prices/details/dates?

Realistically we will probably keep the Sport until the end of the year as it will be 3yrs old March 2009 so will probably do the switch Dec 2008/Jan 2009 Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

You need to drive both, and on a long test drive to reach a considered opinion.

They are both fantastic vehicles, but they are also two totally different vehicles. The Sport is a sports car, a drivers car meant for performance, equivalent vehicles being the Porsche, X5 etc etc.

The FFRR is a luxury vehicle more in keeping with a Bentley, you get larger seats, more accommodation, vast boot, split tailgate and a hugely improved spec, the vehicle smooths out the road like a large ocean going liner and gives a harsh free ride - but you also have to pay for all this.

Straight line performance between the two vehicles - there is absolutely no material difference, the Sport will corner better though.

Both vehicles are aimed at different sectors of the market.

Choice comes down to personal preference, what you want the vehicle for, the looks of the vehicle and how you enjoy the way it drives. You do need to try both before reaching a decision, mistakes are otherwise costly, believe me I know!

I always thought that when people spoke to me as Mr XXXXXX in my FFRR that my dad was with me!
Nice of others to mention 'liner' in the description - I tried to avoid any reference to a cruise!
I agree they are v. different vehicles - I just don't think (in my 40's) I am old enough or overweight enough to warrant another one. Sorry FFRR owners - you all look lardy in those big seats!
Is it OK to be controversial here? - I'm new! ______________________________________________

............ now a short flight would be between the A30 and the threshold of the runway, whereas a short final is the point from decision height - let's say 800 feet in the UK - to the threshold. So if we are going to start taking the mickey we need to know which one we are we are at!

I, to come back to my original post, liked my FFRR Vougue Se - however, there is no place on this earth where it was worth £20k more than my RRS V8TDV. Bought it, regretted it, put it right. ______________________________________________

Go for it, why not, I've got a stupid sense of humour anyway Wink

I had my first RR when I was 24, and thats a long time ago, but I'm also in my 40's and I'm also not podgy (ish!!! Shocked ) truth be known if the RRS was bigger I would probably have bought one, but the problem is as a shooting brake it just isn't big enough - 4 or 5 large chaps, and a boot full of guns and dogs just don't fit in a Sport comfortably.
