Supercharged

Mine have worn in the same way. Took car to dealers to make sure the wheels didn't need aligning and that there was nothing wrong. Dealer assured after an inspection that the Conti's wear on the outside more than on the inside which sounds rubbish to me but i'm no expert.

Speaking to my Brother in law today he thinks its just what power steering does on some cars.

If you think there is something not right about your tyre wear then take it to your dealer.

Cheers

Steve

Censored crap guy's I had conti's on mine they were nearly bald on the edges after 4K I asked my dealer to take a look I was told the same thing is how they wear. Not happy that any car could only do that amount of miles on tyres I asked them to look again and was told the same thing. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Still not happy I got in touch with LR went to another dealer and low and behold there was a problem with the suspension and something else all fixed by this dealer and 4 nice new tyres thank you very much all under warranty.

Some SC came out with problems so keep on complaining guy's Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Agree with Misery. Too many dealers are blaming characteristics of the car on many faults such as the suspension knocking - they're just lazy and only interested in your money not your enjoyment of your car. It might be an idea to list service departments which have successfully fixed these 'characteristics' so that we don't all waste our time. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Basically the pictures here are the inside of my OSF Conti which have now been disposed and in the bin along with the NSF which was nearly as bad

All though the wear was uneven i cannot get anything back off the stealer (who reset the geometry when the changed the steering rack) as the tyre company that fitted the new Wranglers did not have the tools to set the vehicle in Geometry mode Evil or Very Mad and the stealer can dispute the settings apparently that were found 11.2 degrees total toe Shocked bCensored ds have an excuse for everything..

just do not get me started on a new Dealer feedback thread Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

I must admit my tyre wear is no where near as bad as yours Zilch but there is an obvious difference in wear on the outside edge probably not even 5% of the foot print of the tyre compared to the rest. I did go to an independent tyre place and their first thought was that the tyre wear was from roundabouts, but because it was on both front wheels he wasn't so sure which was why I took it to the dealer.

Will try and post a photo and see what you guys think.

Cheers

Steve

I don't get this "roundabouts" excuse... what are they saying? Try not to go across roundabouts as your tyres will wear out? Question

Because it is a big heavy car and we go wizzing round roundabouts tyres can wear on the outside redge on the left front wheel.

Sounds a bit daft to me. But not as daft as the tyres wear more on the outside edge which just doesn't sound right unless wheel alignment is off or some other ailment that i'm no expert on.

I can understand the logic of it, but you'd think you'd need above average roundabout use to really make that sort of impact on the tyre's wear. The service depts first question should be then, "Do you live in Milton Keynes?" Wink

Yes they tried that excuse on me until I pointed out I might live there but commute elsewhere with very few roundabouts on my route. Rolling Eyes
My FNS Conti is wearing very badly on the outer shoulder at 8K miles, bald as a Coots arse Exclamation The other tyres are looking ok so far, which tends to suggest there is a suspension/track rod end issue. Though they have changed the bushes at long last, time will tell if that was the issue. 4 wheel alignment was checked and is ok.

I asked them to photograph the tyres and raise the issue with LR last week..............I wait with baited breath Exclamation TDV6 - gone
