United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged HST Rimini Red
Land Rover Audio connectivity module

Does anyone have one of these fitted, whether it be Disco3, RRS, Freelander 2 ???

I have been offered on of these at cost to be fitted into my RRS, however, due to the limiting information available from LR, it remains unclear as to whether this will be able to accomodate my size disk drive.

I am not interested in the IPod integration, purely the USB connectivity. I have a 250Gb external HD and want to use it in the car!!! Slightly excessive amount of music, but imagine the choice!! Shocked

Any help would be appreciated - due to be installed next week, but if it is not going to work, I will tell them to hang fire.

Thanks. My Gladiators:

RRS S/C HST - respect of the highest order
Freeloader 2 SE with all the toys - my baby RR
Merc SL55 AMG - Tarmac ripper!

Disco3 - Gone
Defender 90 TD - Gone
FFRR Vogue - Gone
BMW X5 4.4 - Gone
LR Defender 300Tdi - Gone
LR Defender 2.5 PETROL - Gone

baring any answers tonight I'll try it tomorrow with a portable 300GB HD.
As far as I know you have to have all the music in the root directory, could make searching a bit of fun if the track you want is at the other end of the file list Shocked Sons of dogs come eat flesh

For that, it all depends on what's on the "car" side of the USB port... the iPod interface may expect to see the filesystem of an iPod and go berserk when it sees anything else. Interesting to test though Thumbs Up

Big Cry Tried it and it died
Plugged in a USB2 20Gb IBM Travelmate external HD and it didnt work neither did it work with a 300Gb USB2 HD. and then it stopped working altogether Shocked can't get the iPod to play through the system anylonger, and the system just makes a brrp brrrp brrp noise when switched to Aux. will try and disconnect the battery to reset the system after dinner tonight, never had any spanners with me to do it earlier. Failing all that it is a trip to the dealers Big Cry Sons of dogs come eat flesh

or a USB memory stick, lots of details on how to navigate through tracks and folders for the memory stick, Ah well, if worst comes to worst the iPod still works through the Aux input in the rear. Sons of dogs come eat flesh

Al, try connecting up an iPod to the USB, it may reload the software from it. A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

It's an optional extra, you could have it fitted to your car Jay if you wanted. If fits into the glove box and you can use it to charge a mobile phone as well I believe A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

RRP is £168 + Alistairs share @ 17.5%.

Fitting takes approx 2 hours, unless you have a decent stealer who will do it for FREE!!!! Whistle

That's not good news about the USB interface. I will not have an IPod as of next week, the Iphone is already on Ebay - hate it! Censored

Alicatt - could you let me know how you get on......sounds like it will be a showstopper for me. Censored
