Thanks for the clarification, Matt.... so where do Compomotive come into all this? Are they Bowler's supplier? Confused

compomotive and ourselves developed the wheel. they make them, we sell them.

Good morning to all posters,
I would just like to clear up some confusion about the fitment to the pd1880 to range rover sport with brembo caliper set up.
For all my sins i am the purchasing manager for Bowler off road and have been speaking to one of the members of the forum regarding the fitment of the pd1880.
When this wheel is fitted to range rover sports with brembo brake set up you have to remove the harmonic damper from the brake calliper. this causes excessive brake squeal that is not acceptable on a road car. Turning the damper is not recomeded as you are taking the brake system away from its type approval and may have implications in a accident or any warranty claims. The pd1880 is only available through Bowler off road when required. There is a very visually similar wheel style the mo1881 which is for road cars and only rated to a weight of two tonnes so not suitable for range rover sports but may fit with the harmonic damper. The pd1880 is a motorsport wheel and has a higher strength and falls in line with all f.i.a regulations regarding maximum rolling radius. Please feel free to copy and paste this message on other forums to clear up the confusion.

all the best with your range rover sports

Hi All,

Many thanks to Matt for clearing this up, it was me that he was chatting to and he was/is extreemly helpful as he personally tried to fit one of the PD1880 wheels to a RRS and also tried turning the damper around etc.

I think we need to go back to Compmotive and see if they can do anything with the MO1880 wheel to increase its load rating or something like that Question

Russell. Gas, grass or ass - nobody rides for free!!

Strange, since you can buy PD1880s (even without the Bowler logo) off the Compomotive website. I know someone who's fitted them to his RRS with no ill-effects......

He probably has a 4.4V8 without Brembos which means that he's OK to fit them! A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

Tata TDv8 HSE - Stornoway/ebony and straight grain walnut with towpack, Tasmods and an HST grille. Coming soon LEDs in the headlights
Staying - Epsom Green Defender 90 for playing off road

It's a supercharged Tim......which is why he went to the trouble of buying the wheels in the first place. Did you read the thread - the 'S/C' in the title should have given a hint......

I'll see if I can get the original poster on rr.net to resubmit the pictures and/or host them elsewhere for referral. FWIW, he did buy these wheels from the US Distributor of Compomotive, Motorsport Specialties in Pennsylvania.

Maybe they were the wheels Matt mentioned in his first post - MO1881 and not the PD1881 Question

I think some pics would help us all out Question Gas, grass or ass - nobody rides for free!!

He wrote that he ordered the PD1880, the pics will clear it up. Anyone know what tyres Bowler use on the Nemesis? I've seen pictures with Cooper Discoverer STT, but are there others?

hi guys
the tyres used on the prototype were cooper stt's. but the side walls were to soft for desert racing so ourselves and kuhmo have designed a suitable tyre.
