First Roadtrip

I am getting ready to leave for the weekend to take the wife and 4 year old daughter to see the New York City Ballet's Nutcracker in Manhattan - 300 miles each way. So far I have been getting around 11mpg. Anybody have any stats on fuel consumption for highway driving?

The SC folks have been getting around 18mpg on a trip, I think. The 4.4 should be a little better than that. Are you still running in? Fuel consumption will get better the more bedded in the engine becomes...

Don't forget you guys have smaller gallons than us too so mileage will appear less if you are using a manual method to work out mpg. It shouldn't matter if you are using the trip computer - I'm sure LR will not have recalibrated it for US gallons.
Also at present are you mainly driving in the city as that will knock your consumption right up.
Brim the tank, reset the trip and ave mpg functions of the computer, get onto the freeway/ interstate and set the cruise and set the info centre in the instrument binnacle to ave mgp and observe!

Sorry, not intending to flame anyone, but I drive about 30,000 miles annually and that represented an almost doubling of the price here hence the ouch.
BTW lived (and drove) in Ireland throughout the eighties so I've had the "pleasure" of being a significant contributor to both the Irish and UK Revenue via those petrol and vehicle taxes. 2011 BMW X3 35i Carbon Black

600 miles and the results are about to make me cry... 14.8mpg!!!!! I am not a religious man, but thank the lord premium was only $2.27 a gallon.
1) The vibration from 55-80 was overly obnoxious, almost to a point where my arms got tired of driving.
2) She feels like she needs alignment, almost like the both front tires are towed in. the wheel wants to snap back to center instead of letting me gently turn her and place her where I want on the road.

Mr. G was that you in a black SC around 60's and Park - Sunday morning?

Don't bother G, in September when I was in Jersey City/Hoboken and Pavonia I saw as many of them as Range Rovers, couldn't believe how many there were over there. Seems they are definately becoming a "Folkswagen" and far too bling for a Land Rover owner! Laughing 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
