TDv8 is a miser!

Ok guys, I've just got home from a 9 hour drive from Sway, done at legal speeds for the most part, observing the speed limit with the odd blast to get clear of idiots riding on the rear bumper.
So here are some pics of the trip computer from today's journey - who says that a V8 Diesel need be dull and slow, because this one is amazing - instant acceleration (no "flat spot" like the V6, this thing just lifts it skirts and FLIES when you tickle the loud pedal.

And a really beautiful car

Not good pics as they were snatched on my phone camera as I was driving along.......... Whistle

You might just be able to read 30.0mpg and cruising on the adaptive cruise at 70 on the speedo but in the info screen it says the cruise is set at 72mph. At 70 in 6th gear this engine pulls exactly 2000 rpm in the TDv6 is was a couple of hundred RPM more. The Tdv6 is definitely the quieter car for a long drive though, not that I am complaining, it's quieter exhaust is more suited to long fast drives whereas the TDv8 is great for a thrill, with point and squirt, going for a blast type driving. After I got clear of Glasgow and on the country roads round where I live tonight, I let rip and on familiar roads the roadholding is amazing, DR definitely does wonders and this car goes round corners that I could not take at more than 50 in the v6, at 70 or more in the V8! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

You got it in one! I have put a post about what I saw there today over in the spotted section. I always stop there for a comfort stop and lunch/coffee rather than using the Cherwell Valley services. Would much rather give them my money than give it to Granada or any of the other motorway service area operators. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Malaysia 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Chawton White

Nice. Thumbs Up

Tim, there was a notice informing all dealers to change the radiator upper hose clip before delivery. I read it somewhere but just cannot find it now!
You may want to check with the dealers if you've not known of this already. Malaysia Boleh!

I think Kam still holds the trip MPG record of 34.5 in his TDv6, I never matched it in mine - I tried very very hard though! I would surprised if I could get it that high in the v8. I like to keep my credit card very firmly locked in my wallet and hate paying the oil majors any more than I have to, but also on a 500mile drive, it is much more pleasant to drive it at sane speeds than to have to concentrate so hard on looking for idiots and plod waiting to catch you. And on our roads you will still get stuck in the same traffic jam anyway!

BTW, my trip computer was reset at the filling station in Brokenhurst in the New Forest and I reset it again when I refilled at Hamilton Services on the M74. The first 3 pics above were done at Sandbach services after 5 hours driving and one previous comfort stop for me at Gaydon. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Interesting, my new car is in the VIN number range. In view of the fact that dealer had to impound the cars until repairs were done I will not worry..........................................................................................................
