Hi guys, just got back from Pakistan..
Count me in definitely, will look forward to hearing some more finalised times/dates as and when they arise..

Mixed opinion of arriving back in the UK, not good to be back in the office, but seeing as though my dads still over there looks like im the boss for a while.. surprisingly everything has run smoothly while we have been away..
and the RRS is as i left it, missed out on using it in the snow, but just glad it didn't get nicked or anything while i was away..

Good to be back in decent cars though, i drove around 1000km in a 1.6 VTI civic saloon while i was in pak, and had to endure some crazy driving conditions, including off road rough driving across rocks, in a front wheel drive civic!! would have loved to have had my RRS there!

Good to be back to some normality though..

Just round the corner - I'm in Cobham. If you ever go to the Pool in The Park there's a lovely grass bank near the pool which I would love to take the RRS up and down! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Tim, I know I have suggested this before.....but a good venue to consider is Slaley Hall. The attractions of Slaley for a RRS meet are as follows :

A good quality family friendly hotel who are happy to do very competitive "deals" for group bookings

A great off road track on site (this was built for the national launch of a new 4x4 some years ago and has now been enhanced). This allows a great way to really demonstrate the full range of abilities of the vehicle in a "non damaging" environment (obviously as long as you don't really screw up) and great for spectators.

Some super green lanes in the area and a fabulous off road centre in Weardale about 20 minutes drive away.

Lots to do in the area (and some great drives) accross the pennines and Hadrians Wall.

Great Golf courses at the hotel.

Reasonably central (well its midway between Inverness and London) and right in my back garden. OK so I know its a bit of a hike for someone from Kent (about 3.5 hours up the M1 / A1) or Devon, but on a good weather weekend it really cannot be beat.

I spoke to the chap who runs the Weardale Offraod Centre today. He would be very happy to set out a route around his site (a 900 acre hill farm) which would be challenging but non damaging. The RRS's gathered could circuit this route (probably take 1.5 hours) covering rocks, woods, ditches, stream crossings, steep hills and lots of mud. He has a jet wash at the site so we could remove all mud before returning to the high way. We would have exclusive use of the whole site for the day we were there. Its in a very scenic and wild location in Weardale with some great valley / moorland views.

Let me know what you think, as if this isn't a popular idea I can easily "stand him down".

That sounds fantastic!
Who's up for this then in the new year?
Remember to keep dates and times to PM's only.
Any idea of costs involved?
