England 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
Black number plates

Just seen this for sale on fleebay. It looks very nice but are'nt these type of number plate illegal??? Shocked

Yep, only legal if the vehicle they are fitted to is of a certain age (pre 197-something I think), but when did you last see a traffic copper to actually do anything about anything that didn´t involve a speed camera??? Cheers

And very shortly it will be an MoT failure if plates do not conform to the new regs (for vehicles post 2001). They must also have the manufacturer's PostCode and BS No. So no custom logos, fonts, badges, show plates, incorrectly spaced etc Darren Griffin

Not unless they have a correct set of plates that only go on for the mot and get replaced with the flashy ones straight after.... Cheers

Whats that??? As above I think we have a disgracefully low number of these leading to general driving standards falling all the time and many traffic offences going unchecked as they don't trigger speed cameras.... Sad Cheers

I have put my car in a number of times for MOT with incorrectly spaced letters on the number plate. It comes back with an advisory point but not a fail....Hee Hee !
