RRS Diesel pulls skin off rice pudding...

When I changed my X5 (petrol) for a RRS diesel I was worried about acceleration. THAT WAS until the other day I raced (admittedly not off the line) A NEW X5 3D down a dual carriageway near Brum. Kept up with it! SHOCKED!

On the downside the sat nav jams on thee LR screen and the radio goes load then quiet (repeatedly). This is a bummer but the fella I brought the car off says its to do with the BT?

PS the car looks wicked. I want to change some bits, but my missus will withold 'love' if I go mad. In what order would you guys get this stuff:

1. Stormers (20 or 21" ??)
2. Side steps
3. Front fog kit
4. Scharger style exhaust tips (not sure about this one tho)
5. CHIP it up!

On another note, who owns a regular RR? Hows it compare?

ciao.

I doubt your sat nav problem has anything to do with the bt. I should book it in to a dealer to fix it before the end of your warranty.

As for your list. Assuming it must be a TDV6, then get the Ecu remapped first Wink TDV6 - gone

Don't forget a set of Tasmods... no self-respecting owner should be without! Thumbs Up

These are custom made sill protectors, very well regarded on this forum and probably the most popular mod.

Send a PM to member Tasmod to see whether he has any available at the mo.

He forgot the deep water wading johnny, like the Russians used to have on their vehicles for river crossings. Stop him sinking in a puddle.

I've got a similar issue with the Sat Nav, I've traced it to either the DVD player itself or Poss the DVD Disc having a flaw. Because the whole SATNAV/PHONE/ MUSIC system is integrated so heavily when one part fails it has strange effects on the other parts. In my case if the SATNAV sticks on the LR screen then the radio sounds like someone is switching the sound off and on. I found that when this happens the DVD is constantly seeking but not actually locking on to the Disc. If you move the passanger seat forward you can then access the SATNAV DVD player, slide the lock to open and press the eject button and check the surface of the disc for dirt or scratches (in my case it looked ok). Ejecting & Reinserting the disc always clears the fault on my car. It only happens intermitantly (1 or 2 times a month) so I am just leaving it till my next service and will get the dealer to look at it then. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Know what is is!

Been told it the BT. I was advised to disconnect my phone (N95 set to connect automatically), switch off, and re-start. Cures it every time! (still crap though)
