Shocked Shocked Shocked

That's unbelievable!!! I feel for you Robbi... that is seriously bad luck Sad I've never heard of anything like that happening before... although that said, Tim's said before now of cargo damage not being unheard of. Be interesting how they go about getting that all sorted - there could be a lot of repair work involved in that, esp if their is chassis or roof damage.

Yep.... and if so, I wouldn't want to drive that car again with some very solid reassurances that everything's back in alignment Neutral

Not sure about there being chassis damage, they are strong old beasts, don't forget the pounding they can take off road and also think off VA's accident etc.

Roof damage could be the deciding factor though.

As they have already said Robbi we feel your pain.

That is a disgrace. Shocked

I would be wanting a new car because no matter how good the body repair is you can always tell, and it wont feel the same. You don't stop playing because you get old, You get old because you stop playing.

Thanks guys. The roof seemed OK apart from the round edge above the doors. It is a solid car and looks like the only momentum was it's own weight. Words still fail me. Hopefully the recovery agent will come clean with an explanation as to how a 3 tonne car finds itself on its side, but maybe they won't for legal reasons.

Have sent my letter to Land Rover and will wait for the insurance assessors report. Though insurance companies will always try to reduce their liability!

Hopefully I will get behind the wheel of a Sport soon, even a temporary one while I wait would be nice Smile Rob

Shocked Shocked Shocked

DO NOT ACCEPT THIS CAR BACK !

I had an Audi cabriolet a few years ago that Audi Roadside Assist had to come to my house to recover it& take it back to the dealer - they reversed it off the low loader and virtually ripped the drivers door off! I insisted on a new/replacement car. It was there fault - Your car was not right from the start - this being the final straw! Dont accept anything other than a new car.

In fact after my insitance...... I not only had an appology - they also upgraded me into a higher spec'd cabriolet. End result was worth it.

So - Dont settle for second best.

Good Luck

Thanks MDP. Hopefully I will get a replacement without a fight but I am prepared for it.

Had a chat with the garage at the weekend. They have checked the allignment and the chassis. All is OK so I suspect Land Rover will be expecting me to accept the car back. Of course it's going to be at least a month before the body work is done and I should be getting some type of Land Rover this Friday to use while I wait.

Apparantly the ignition barrel was the problem. They managed to unlock it but only if they keep the key in the ignition. Once you pull the key out it locks up again. Replacement on order.

I would recommend anyone how has a sticky ignition to get it check out!

Should be getting a call from Land Rover this week. I'll let you know what happens. Anyone on this forum work in Law profession? Would like to know what my legal position is?

Well guys the replacement Sport is finally on its way. Took a while but LRA and LR finally agreed.

Should be built mid Feb with delivery by end of Feb.

Been driving around in a Discovery XS in the meantime all courtesy of LRA. The dealer made a good earner from that!

It will be nice to get back into the V8, though with it being the 2nd replacement Sport I have wondered about a change.

Regards
