Airbag warning light & Fuel flap won't open

Hello all

Just thought i'd let you know about a couple of problems i've had a with my RRS recently.

1. Airbag warning light will not extinguish.
2. Fuel flap won't open.

Both problems were resolved very quickly by my dealer. The airbag problem was resolved by doing some jiggery pokery with the software, they had a technical notice about this problem and loaded updated software I think. The fuel flap just needed lubricating, having said that a week later it wouldn't open again. This time I was in Belgium on my way back to the UK and not too chuffed. After several locks and unlocks of the car the flap opened.

I haven't taken the car back to the dealer yet as just haven't had chance. But thought you would be interested about how the airbag was resolved.

I am still a very happy RRS owner and managed to get 33mpg according to the trip computer on my recent trip to Holland.

No I don't know anyone else who has a RRS or on this forum. One of my brothers in law has just bought an Audi Q7. RRS is still the best looker though.

Hi Steve, I had the exact same problem with the fuel flap. Pain in the backside, I was on empty in the Highlands and pulled in to fill up and could not get the flap open, After 10 mins of locking / unlocking and a lot of swearing it suddenly decided to open. If it hadn't I was just gonna call LR Assistance and let them deal with it as I would have been stuffed with not enough fuel to get home! As usual with the RRS - It hasn't happend since - Go figure Rolling Eyes Whistle 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Hi Endjin just annoyed it happened twice within a week or so. There is no manual release to open it from the inside either which seems daft to me.

Phoned my dealer when it happened the 2nd and they said there is no manual release and to call out LR assistance.

Like I said no manual release seems stupid.

If you remove the small square access panel in the RH Rear Quarter trim you can reach in to the Fuel Flap Actuator cable. If your fuel flap sticks again try giving this a bit of a wiggle, this should help to release the locking mechanism. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE.
