Tyre Life and Wider Rubber

Hi,

I'm running 20" alloys and have new rubber on the front and about 3-4 mm on the rear.

Knowing that tyre efficiency in the wet drops dramatically when they drop below 3mm, i'd like to fit new rear rubber soon. I'd like 295's instead of the stock 275's. Can I safely fit the 295's to the rear waiting for the front wheels to get replaced in good time?

What kind of tyre life do you get?

Thanks in advance y'all.

Personally I dont think it's a good idea to run different tyre sizes between front/rear

I noticed when I saw Envoys car he runs 295's
Problem is if you fit them just on one axle you will leave yourself open to warranty issues. If you have any drive line problems they will blame the tyre size. I would stay to all axles - same size. You don't stop playing because you get old, You get old because you stop playing.

I have HSE TDV8 with 20" wheels and my good lady has kerbed 2 wheels already!!
I want to fit 295`s when I replace the tyres which size fits and doesnt affect the rolling radius??
295/40`s od 45`s??
Will I need to change the nav settings etc callibration??
Any good tyre recommendations instaed of the Conti`s??
With better rim protection maybe.
I dont want the speedo to read fast or slow etc??
Cheers guys...this subject has probably been covered before but cant be arsed to search. Whistle Blick with blick windows, big wheels, tow bar for nickin, side steps for the tart, DVD screens for on the go porn, 22" Stormers black and polished... as a matter of fact just about every box ticked.....if I`m going down I`m going down BIG time. Wink))

295x40x20's Nexion's on mine, speedo readings are 2 mph out(slower) not sure thats got anything to do with the tyre size or not, tyres have done 4k and appear to be in pretty good condition considering the abuse they get

Birdy get the 40's they will give you much better side wall and wheel protection than the 45's Thumbs Up
