Might also be worth posting this on the D3 site too, they tend to be a bit more muddy than us in general and as the RRS and D3 chassis are the pretty much the same, you'd expect the same mounting points etc. |

Rear recovery is where the towbar electrics are and the front one is under the plastic cover. They aren't tie down points but are suitable for "proper off roading" |

I get my off road on a regular basis. Happy to say that i have never needed to be yanked out (although i have come close several times) I would not do a recovery from the front hook, it is a tie down and will break off. The rear point is ideal to be recovered.

As has already been said, the front one is a proper recovery point too, not just a tie down, so don't waste your time |

My LR Dealer said it was not built for recovery. Does anyone know for sure? |

Think Slimer is correct,, will have a look on the G4,,, if it needed beefing up,, LR would have done it on the challenge vehicles |

had the RRS deep in the mire, good old scottish peatbog and bottomed out even in super-extended mode and had to get pulled out |

Attach a couple of heavy duty shackles on both recovery points and you'll be ready for the worst. TJ is right, the recovery points on both RRS and Disco/LR3s are basically part of the frame and very strong. According to LR, you can actually use them to lift and suspend the vehicle up in the air. |
