I think it's getting to the point where we all need to club together on this issue.........it is now proven to be a lost cause.

As much as I LOVE the brand, enough is enough. It is bad enough being treated like a second rate citizen by this joke of a government, but to be "fobbed off" "lied too" "accused of challenging the characteristic of a vehicle" etc etc is an outright joke.

Land Rover obviously are not taking the issue seriously - as proven by many of our dealer visits only to faced with yet another occurance of the same old problem - if the system cannot be fixed, for whatever reason, then it is a plain and simple case of "goods not fit for purpose". You do not spend such vast amounts of cash on something that causes you such grief and inconvenience.

Each dealer visit = inconvenience and grief and ultimately time away from a car that you paid to enjoy. As much as these cars are aesthetically pleasing, they are not monuments nor garage fodder designed just to be eyed at, they are tools, albeit pleasurable ones (mostly).

£60k is a considerable amount of money and the RRS is some £40k + more of what we would all pay for an average saloon car that would undoubtedly not make such noises nor cause such inconveniences.

The dealers are taking the brunt of our frustrations with Land Rover only willing to help on a remote basis - NOT ACCEPTABLE. Evil or Very Mad

Most owners are probably now thinking of upgrading or changing their vehicles only to be faced with the same issue that has been apparent since the vehicle launch. How the vehicle is still allowed out from the factory with this issue is beyond belief and can only be described as shoddy. This sort of approach is showing the face of Land Rover old and not the new "Premium Sophistication" Land Rover that the marketing machine has us believe.

Maybe, just maybe, they should stop using the marketing budget on promoting the brand and instead channel some of that huge profit from our hard earned money back into the problem.

We all know that Land Rover visit this site and pick up on the problems that all cars go through, but this particular one needs resolving PDQ.

Come on LR - get this issue fixed or loose the market share you have fought so hard to gain back. Simple. Evil or Very Mad

If LR or the dealer aren't willing to help, one avenue is your finance contract (if you don't own the car out right). Basically look for breach of contract options with the theory that the finance company then takes on LR for you as they won't want to have to (ultimately) take the car back from you if you can prove grounds for breach! IIRC a friend of mine did this successsfully once some years ago. 2008 WHITE TDV6

Yeah i own mine to.

As i was saying before i didn't buy my RRS from my local dealer, i went down south for it. But i did call the local dealer to see what thay had to say about this knocking that so many of us are having problems with. The answer to my question was, " Oh really we have never heard of this problem. No we haven't had any cars in with this problem".

What a load of Censored ! Jesus is this what its coming to!
I really can't see that they have never heard of this, considering the amount they have sold.

My Dealer said the same thing, do we actually know how many knockers we have on here? Can we start a Poll?

@will wonka

You are totally right. I am also frustated that LR could not offer anything to fix the problem with the DR system. then they shoulds not put the system in the cars !

I am also thinking to change soon to another car/brand. Then it was a short visit to Land Rover products...

I have seen following video from You Tube:

How about that ????
Is LR testing to find a solution for the problem.... ---------------------------------------------------------

Good find!! Thumbs Up

I have just called LR - car being recovered within next hour. D3 as replacement, which is fine until Monday.

I am going to turn the screw this time round - enough is enough. I do not want to change brands, everything about the car is spot on - apart from the poxy suspension.

Action plan:

1. Monday - get onto LR CC and send official letter (via fax) to LR Management
2. Demand RRS replacement by CoB Monday
3. Car stays in until resolved 110% - 1 week deadline - which I deem acceptable
4. If not resolved, well let's not hope we have to go here, but it will be in LR interest to resolve rather than force this route. It is Censored ridiculous.

I would suggest that this, as the 6th attempt for resolution, is more than generous on my part. Lest us see what transpires this time, for Censored sake!!

Will update WHEN resolved. My Gladiators:
