United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey
Snow Chains

Over on another forum there is a big debate going on about using snow chains on a 4WD wagon.
If you read various Owner's Manuals from Land Rover they recommend putting chains on the Front for some models (including the Sport) and on the back for other models (Disco S1) and on all 4 wheels for others (Freelander), the only combo I haven't seen is putting them on diagonally oposite wheels which makes me wonder......................... does it really matter with a 4x4!
And why put them where LR suggest - somebody reckonned putting them on the back wheels was best to give better traction going downhill others say otherwise so what are folks views on this seeing as in the UK we rarely need to use them anyway, but if you are snow driving in some European Countries they are mandatory. When I worked up in Iceland you were required to run on studded tyres in certain winter conditions............. A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

Tata TDv8 HSE - Stornoway/ebony and straight grain walnut with towpack, Tasmods and an HST grille. Coming soon LEDs in the headlights
Staying - Epsom Green Defender 90 for playing off road
