It was all the prospective purchasers looking in to see what the owners REALLY think about the company!

Hi
You could be right there Tim, after looking at the Freel2 forum and seeing lots of problems with the newly introduced LR2 it tipped me towards the RRS TDV8 as a replacement for my Scooby. Having had a low volume production car before and all the issues of sorting out the gremlins with it, I didn't realy want to be in that position again.
Mind you I only had 2 problems with the car, an air leak in the intake plenum and the heater hose bursting. The air leak was my fault when I changed the 68mm throttle body for a 75mm Smile and the heater hose was a known fault waiting to happen to all that marque.

Welcome. the Freelander 2 will outsell the RRS by many thousands so more likely in the long run to find the gremlins early. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Well the FL2 looked like a baby RRS, the RRS was the one the "significant other" liked. It was only recently I found out that they made the TDV8.
Now I love the sound of a V8 whether it is petrol as in my MG ZT260 or as was in my Stonefield 6x4 with a 6.2l GMC V8 diesel (same engine as the original Hummer).
The "SO" has been a Disco driver for about 12 years and her son drives a Defender 110, My family always thought that Land Rovers were a bit on the soft side and a little delicate for serious use Very Happy ... well we kept on breaking them Embarassed Now she has persuaded me to try the Landrover again.
My last 4x4 was a 80 series Landcruiser and it gave me great service until I got rid of it after 14 months and 113,000 miles.
