If it's lunch time and we're eating then the pubs I would go for are:-

The Wavendon Arms

Modern and very tastefull and great gardens if weather is good. We will need to book tables ASAP Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation which speaks volumes for the place as the food is excellent (also does burgers!), good parking. I've been and tried it. Comes Highly recommended.

The Barge Inn - Old world beamed traditional pub, excellent pub food, reasonable parking. I've tried it. Very popular during weekdays and might be a bit quieter on a saturday, but then again. Dosen't take bookings.

The Proud Perch by the canal. Not tried it but have been told by many people that the food is great.

But of course Envoy has passed through these parts on his barge a few times on his travels and may have another cunning venue up his sleeve.
