Autologic Dyno Results

All, I've just had the Autologic ECU remap done. I'm very happy with the results. On the drive home last night, about 300km, I just could not stop playing a bit. I'm glad the cops were not around. Smile

First impressions are that the engine/gearbox behaves in the same manor as before, it just has more power. Also, it may be my imagination but it seems to be a bit smoother under hard acceleration. It does hold higher gears longer.

Fuel economy, when not playing, seems to the same or a bit better. I did notice that when driving for economy, the average indicated consumption by the vehicle dropped quicker that I remember in the past. This would tend to indicate that it is getting better economy when treading lightly. However this is very subjective so I'll have to see in the long run. The trip from Sydney to Canberra last night (with a couple of v quick bursts) averaged 8.2 litres/100km. Normal cruise on this road is between 115km and 120km. My normal consumption is around the 8.0lt/100km. I can't complain about this.

Power increase at the wheels is about 20% This is shown in the following dyno report.

Good solid factual information.

I would be interested to hear your thoughts as time/mileage goes on.

ps Has anyone done a conversion chart from road speed to engine revs in each gear ?

Peter, try these.

First one is a tyre size calculator. I used it for calculating the tyre diameter. It's also useful for looking at the changes that different sizes make to speedo etc. I'm not sure who the author was but it works very well.

The next one is a bit more complicated. It shows the kph vs RPM in each gear. I've just done a bit of a sanity check but if there are any experts out there that can point out any errors, I'd be happy to correct them.

They look pretty accurate.
For mine with 255/50/19 Contis 1930rpm is 100kph true in 6th.
(dash tacho says 1900 and speedo reads 104kph..........corrected with accurate gps and digital tacho.)
Have to crank up excel when I get time.
Am I correct in thinking that your graph covers the rev range of about 2500 to 4000 rpm.
If it does then that means the power increase is nearly constant over the rev range no engine/transmission destroying spikes or bumps....excellent!!! This is confirmed by your comments about smoothness.

btw Those are 2 very handy spreadsheets

Rear 'Open' Differential

I thought you may have known the difference between power and torque measured at the road wheels on a dyno compared to a flywheel measure, either on an engine dyno or calculated as such. RRS TDV6 MY07 gone.

I certainly do know but it seems to me that you have much greater losses than the dyno measurements I've seen in the UK.

It's just that I produced the original tuning files for Autologic last year and we were seeing at least another 15kw at the wheels than what you got?

What approximate losses did your dyno guy calculate or work from? Chips with everything

Given all the variables...particularly fuel quality I would have thought 12.5% difference is OK Shocked

I thought 10% was more the norm, or is that just for two wheel drive and four wheel drive needs an allowance of 12.5% Question Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.

Does anyone know if there is a perecentage formula for working out transmission losses or rolling road? "People simply disappeared, always during the night.
