Abs traction and suspension lowering fault 2008 rrs

Hi everyone

Just got my new rrs 2008 2.7 had it a week and love it drives spot on 110 miles on it fsh or it did for a week
All was good till I got on the motorway then 3 faults come up after about 5 mins
Abs traction and hdc car lowering and F on the gearbox car just coasts along no power
I pull over turn the car off then restart it all cleared no faults raises up and off I go again then 10 mins down the road same again
Car doesn’t store any codes and always starts back up fine

Odd thing is I can drive round towns all day no issues but soon as I’m on straight motorway same faults come up.

Searched all over the web for a solve to this but stuck

Any help would be much appreciated before I take it to the dealership

Also purchased privately so no warranty

Really want to fix this and post the results to help other owners

Hi thanks for your reply

All 4 tyres are same brand the front near side tyre is slightly more worn then the other but not by much
Strange thing is it was fine all day today then just as I was 5 mins from home same thing happened again

Definitely check the tire pressures. After that you’ll want diagnostics to help pinpoint the issue. Hopefully not water getting into the TCCM. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

First thing I checked was the tyre pressures and all good there
I will try get diagnostics done and post the results
Will it show a fault even though they clear when the car is restarted??

What and where is the tccm? Is there a way to check it ?

Transfer Case Control Module. On a RHD I believe it is on the right side (looking at the engine) behind the battery. Sometimes water can drip down onto it and it’s not the best sealed unit I’ve seen. Pull the connector and check for corrosion on the pins.

Another possibility is a damaged ABS sensor wire on one of the wheels. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

Thank you for your replies

I had the car diagnostic done came up with 36 faults in total
Garage has cleared all these for me and advised to drive see what comes back up and they will plug it in again.
Guy said it will give better idea dealing with just the actual codes that are triggered and will rescan free to diagnose.

I have driven the car 3 days and nothing has come back yet I’m sure it will

He tested the wheel sensors on the machine and all was good so don’t think it’s that

He did state most faults where bcm related

Really want to get this problem sorted so it will help other owners

Also had the battery tested came back with 11.8 v after been sat and 13.99 when running I believe that is all good

11.8V is bordering on a flat battery,, and 13.9V running is not right. You should be seeing 14.6V at idle and a fully charged battery would be at least 12.6V. I would be investigating your alternator,, if you have access to a clamp meter you can check the charging current. 2010 RRS, TDV8

Exactly what gogsy1956 said and exactly what mine has shown for almost two years now. May need an alternator and battery cause those numbers aren’t good at all.

Mine sitting at 12.8v

Mine charging at 14.6v+

Thanks everyone

New battery getting fitted today and will get alternator checked Monday hopefully that will sort it out

How hard is a new alternator to fit on one of these ?

Sounds like the garage either doesn’t have a clue or wants to throw parts at it and empty my wallet

Right then

Just been and used my voltmeter battery was 12.2 before started then went to 13.6 when running never went over 13.7 when running even giving it some revs so believe the alternator isn’t giving out enough
Just enough to keep it running
Does this sound right new alternator then possibly battery?
