Eh Up all,

Well after months of looking and lurking on this form I took the plunge.....with eyes wide open !!!!

Took all the advice I could from here and bought the best I could find for the money I had, ended up with the above

2012 Red Edition SDV6 Santorini Black / Full Ebony interior, 98000 miles, FSH

Had an E53 X 5 for the last 6 years which I liked but could never get past wanting a Sport, but I have to say it was well built and reliable . Back in 98 had a Westminster Grey 3.8 RFI Range Rover Classic - promised myself I would never by another one after 3 years of ownership. I never spannerd on a car so much. 🙄

Taking all the knowledge and tips I’ve:-

Changed all belts
Spent 3 days properly under sealing with Dinitrol products ( took front lower wheel arch body mouldings of and got a bucket ( I kid you not) of leaves mud etc out from drivers side and less from passenger side but all good now), took all heat shields of and spare wheel protection to get it fully covered.
Clay bar
Cut and polish
Removed side steps and replaced with new
Got swollen nuts off ( that was fun 🤬- never heard of this until reading here what a job)
Sorted bonnet open message - cleaned bonnet latch sensor
Working my way on interior now
Intend to change discs and pads shortly all round

Will send some more pics as I work my way through things - your advice will be welcomed especially when I do the rear discs 😳

Busy is an understatement

Forgot to add I also have:-

Wet vacuumed all interior
Sorted a few bits of missing trim
Cleaned of various little marks
Made a release pull for the rear seat as one was missing ( used an old rucksack strap webbing 😁)
Sorted out and rebuilt the load cover - been dropped at one side and only needed a fettle
Replaced all wheel nuts with stainless ones - ain’t having any nut issues going forwards

Will be back for advice on how to get at my fog lights - I’m hoping I can get them by taking headlamps out

I do all my own spraying too - looking for a set of wheels to refurb too having done almost every car I’ve owned.

Also suspect I’ll need to consider a few jobs on your done list 👍

Well between you 2 you should set up a RRS refurbishment channel. Plenty to keep us mortals entertained. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

Well managed to get a few bits sorted today;-

Forgot before and after pics 😐

Resprayed bottom catch 😂 - just my ocd
Cleaned and detailed under engine ( I really need a hobby😂)
Now the controversy 😳- fitted new fog lights ( I think there great - personal choice 👍)
