RRSPORT 67 plate Amber air bag warning light

Hi i have an issue with my car. The amber airbag warning light stays on. I have read that people suggest hitting the seat or fidling under the seats but i cant seem to get it to go off. Does anyone have any experience with this and or any suggestions. I have taken it to the garage previously and limited success with it.

There are periods historically where it would fix it self for a while then come back on but at the moment its constant.

Its really frustrating and im a touch scared if all the airbags work etc.

Any help would be gratefully received.

thanks in advance

Had this on mine, when I took it to the garage they could not get it to come back on, I kid you not on the way home it came on, sometimes when I moved the seat , every adjustment to the max, switched the engine off then back on again it would go out for a while, the day I sold it to dealer it was off right up to the point he started the Engine and on it popped. This should have been a recall from Landrover but as nobody’s died from it yet it’s not. Good luck

ah really! that sounds rotten luck. Did the dealer still buy the car? did it devalue what he paid you for it?

Could be a similar issue to on the L405 of similar year, on those the loom to the seat airbag was too short and resulted in strain on the connector which occasionally went open circuit when the seat moved. LR can supply an overlay loom that replaces the short section with a longer section to alleviate the problem. Just try wiggling the loom between the seat and carpet, if it solves it, you ultimately need to install the overlay loom.

That particular Range Rover was the worst one I’ve ever had, I sold it within a year, I could not go more than 2 weeks without something pinging up, I got stranded by the road for hours when the Altinator and battery packed up, had the front suspension done and then a knocking noise started from the back under acceleration, I couldn’t sell it privately to some poor soul , I lost eight grand on it by selling to a dealer and I did say the air bag light comes on and off. This was a full service history vehicle and looked immaculate.
I still have a Land Rover , I must be mad.
Good luck
Chris
