Congrats!

That's a really short waiting time, lucky you!

Look forward to seeing pics posted when you get it, I've yet to see a real SC in Bonatti .

Yeah, we really lucked out. We decided this morning on either Tonga or Bonatti with Ivory. Given that we were going the SC route, I fully expected to have to wait for a build slot. When I told my salesguy the configuration we wanted, he checked inventory and saw that they had one coming in that was not already spoken for. The only option it has we wouldn't have chosen is adaptive cruise, but we're willing to take it to get the car so quickly.

United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey

I drove a 4.4HSE today with ACC and was really impressed with it, only problem was when a slower car it has locked onto pulls out of the lane you fairly leap away back to the set speed, but it's a great device. A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

TDv8 HSE - Stornoway Grey with ebony and straight grain walnut wood-a-like interior with towpack, Tasmods. The best car I have ever owned
Now departed - Giverny Green TDv6SE with Aspen and Parchment interior - nearly the best car I have ever owned
Staying - Epsom Green Defender 90 for playing off road

Well done Jeff,
After doing all that homework you're a brave man!
Lets hope your Land Rover customer support is better than ours.

The more homework and research I do the more I nearly change my mind, especially after owning VWs for many years and reading the negative comments here.

Good news, after a bad start with zero response from 2 local LR dealerships I have found a Manchester dealer who imports American 4x4 trucks and he can get me an imported RHD UK spec TD6S for a shade over £32,000 for January. He wanted £5000 deposit but after visiting him reduced that to £2000 and even better offered me £6000 for my Golf which means I only need to find a bit more than a grand to add to my fund .
I think I'm going to go for it, just waiting 'til weekend to finally consider, my real concern here is I can't really afford an unreliable car, well maybe not that because it should be covered for 3 years, the hassle, inconvenience, embarrassment even! because this will be the most expensive thing I've ever bought and a few people already telling me it isn't a wise choice??
No, it's my choice! I'm getting one......but the VWs have never let me down..
Help me out here.

Anyone lend me a grand? this member has only recently joined and has yet to prove RRS ownership. Please re-register and submit income details on your profile information page.

VW/AUDI ... all the same. I have been running various audis over the past several years & all have had things go wrong, ranging from replacement gearbox,rattles/faults, major leaks - resulting in replacement car.... etc etc etc... So it happens to them all. Nothing in this world these days is perfect or reliable... or so it seems. You pays your money & takes your choice. Confused

Well, it arrived at the dealership yesterday and I took a peak today. They're doing the pre-delivery stuff including installing the side steps, etc and I should take delivery on Monday. I'll be sure to post pics as soon as I can.

Jeff

Very Happy
