United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Fuji White
CAR STOLEN - Range Rover Sport

Hi,

my car was stolen last from my driveway. Censored Censored Censored Censored

Range Rover Sport Black HSE Dynamic, with black pack, cream interior and pano roof. reg number: DK18 YGH (Facelift model)

from the cctv it seems as they did something to the back of the car for about 15 mins and then unlocked the car and drove off.
Incontrol pro still sort of sees the car, but won't tell me where it is nor allow me to lock unlock or sound the alarm on the car. Car was in Northwest London.

Both keys were in tested faraday pouches.

LR really to need to sort this out. RRS MY2012 AutoBiography

Sorry to hear that!

Seems to me it was a CAN bus injection. Regards etc.,

Yes you will find that they cut a hole in the tailgate to gain access to the vehicle wiring. Once exposed the can network wiring they spiked it with a specialist criminal device to tell the car to open its doors and start the engine via the stop start circuitry.. unfortunately there are auto locksmiths who are quite happy to sell these theft devices to any criminal whom asks…

Sorry to hear this, unfortunately in this country crime does pay, I had my yard robbed and lost thousands , the scum that did it got stuck in my field and broke there front light, by the glass you could see it was a landrover they used, they even dropped a parking ticket on the ground which must have fell out the vehicle, that had the car park and the date they were there on, I handed this to the Police but all I ever got back was a crime number.

Would a Ghost 2 have prevented this?

Yes provided it was wired the right way… the early ones were wired by some technicians to the start inhibit function however by can injection the thieves can potentially bypass this using the secondary stop start circuitry…

In the case above it sounds though they cut a hole in the plastic boot lid to access the canbus…
