Aftermarket reversing camera

I’m really enjoying my 4.2 SC and SWMBO drives it fairly often.

She does however complain about not having a reversing camera.

Has anyone fitted such a beastie and if so, is it tricky ?

Very happy to strip out front/rear seats, carpet etc - just looking for the best solution to keep her indoors happy.

Put GVIF in search it will throw up a lot of post as to what various members have done. If you go for the number plate fitted one's it a bit difficult to make a neat job of hiding the wiring due to the design of the split tailgate I believe. On my old pre-facelift I swapped the rear spoiler for facelift one with the camera in it, if you do however use a genuine spoiler you do need to use the facelift hinges as well as the outer mounting are in a slightly different position. I believe there are aftermarket spoiler around fitted with camera which bolt straight on to the pre-facelift.
Will add mine was a HST so used a later A/B spoiler but see no reason why mounting should be any different. The wiring side is quite straight forward. I guess it depends what sort of job you want, and how much you want to spend.

Cheers
Col

There is a much easier solution.....fit a wolfbox front and rear dash camera or any of the other types you can get now.

I fitted one to our D3, front and rear recording tap the mirror glass and switches from front view to rear view when reversing.

Use it as a rear view all the time because of the poor rear vision from the original mirror. We also have dog cages in the back. No glare at night either from cars behind.

I think I might actually have a camera fitted to the spoiler. Is this one ?

If so, what head unit would I need and what should I be looking for in the dash area as a connection ?

Thanks !
