Disc painting Advice

Will the Grey coating on the Original Disc last if I applied a High Temperature lacquer or will it simply burn off ?

Advice would be much appreciated Bow down

It will eventually start to disappear, although what is the most important bit is the preparation of the disc before painting. They are covered with stuff that needs several sessions with rubbing alcohol to get rid of it, and only then it does make sense to paint. A good high-temp paint will obviously last longer. Do not get tempted with too many layers, though, after the 3rd-4th layer the subsequent will not make the coating last any longer. Regards etc.,

I am in the process of cleaning / preparing the discs to apply a Clear Laquer ( ordering Monday)
I like the idea of keeping them looking fresh for as long as possible.

Thanks for your advice Thumbs Up

I have used this in the past, personally found it excellent and lasted well, as said preparation is the key.

i like the idea of retaining the "Original Grey New Look" for as long as possible, if possible. i appreciate the Grey will highlight brake dust, but I'm pretty keen in the keeping everything clean department so...

I also used the VHT stuff when I replaced the discs on my s/c as options are bit limited down here, it is holding up really well for a couple or so years now used it on the rear calipers as well as the original red finish on the factory calipers was crap, but do have the added advantage that they don't use salt on the roads here.

Cheers
