2012 SDV6 preventative maintenance

Hello everyone,

I just purchased a beautiful 2012 RRS SDV6 8 speed with 51,000km on the clock.

I’ve been reading a lot on the SDV6 and how to keep it problem free, I came from a LR4 5.0L V8 engine and used to do lot preventative maintenance to keep the timing chain and other issue at bay.

For my understanding to start fresh and be worry free for a bit I should perform the following:

* Fuel Pump Belt & Tensioner
* Camshaft Timing Belt & Tensioner
* 2x Camshaft Idler Pulleys
* Auxiliary Drive belt

- [ ] Brake fluid
- [ ] Coolant fluid
- [ ] Transmission fluid
- [ ] Differential fluid
- [ ] Transfer case fluid
- [ ] Power steering fluid
- [ ] Front + rear axle fluid
- [ ] Fuel filter

Are all of the above necessary or some can wait? Any additional preventative maintenance that you guys recommend?

I read that at every cam belt service the oil pump and water pump should also be changed, is that the case for a 2012 also or it has already the upgraded version and no need to change?

I understand this topic has been discussed before but given the low mileage of the car maybe there is some differences.
Any help would be greatly appreciate it.
Thank you!

The 2012 doesn't need a new oil pump or water pump at the belt service. The issue with the oil pump failing was limited to a short period of cars built around 2007 - the old 2.7V6 diesel.

Many of the items in the service schedule are time as well as distance based so a 2012 will likely need to have things done even though it's low miles - the fact that the belts weren't done at 7 years old suggests that other things probably weren't done at the appropriate time interval.

Changing the differential oils, the transfer box oil and the gearbox oil would all be on my list to do, certainly. These items all have breather pipes and so have connection to the external air - over time one might expect moisture to find its way in so changing the oils would be a good thing to do. Sealed systems such as the power steering are probably less of a problem. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
