2016 SVR spare wheel recommendations please

I've looked around everywhere and there's a lot of information but I can't find a definitive answer.

So any 2016 SVR owners out there who have a spare or space save wheel that fits in the wheel well (over the compressor) in the boot? (The hole in the wheel well seems to be 84cm wide by 27cm deep).

I believe the wheel also needs to be 10J which was specific for the SVR.

If so, please can you help me find the right part.

Many thanks 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?

I recently PX’d my SVR (MY17) and had bought a space saver for it that I kept to sell on. I never had to use it. I wasn’t aware of the 10J requirement, or know of it’s implication, nor can I find any reference to it? I believed the spare wouldnt fit over the front calipers, so a puncture on the front would need a rear wheel being placed on the front and the spare on the back. It fitted in my rear wheel well without problem. If you’re interested, drop me a PM, I also have a few other bits to go that I’ll advertise in due course. I am St Albans based. Regards.

Thanks for your answer and that seems to make sense. I'm planning a road trip to the South of France and would feel more comfortable having an actual wheel rather than a bottle of gunk!

If anything happens, I'm not planning on changing the wheels myself but will call breakdown assistance who should be able to easily swap the wheels around.

Unfortunately, as I'm going at the weekend I just ordered a space saver this evening, otherwise I would have been interested, but thank you anyway. 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

Sounds good. Enjoy your trip! Make sure you have a wrench and socket as mine didn’t come with them as standard, only gunk, compressor, scissor jack and locking wheel nut.

I have a full size 22 inch wheel in my boot, fits perfectly and was a factory option

I have the hoist as well and did a trial run when I got the car, just out of interest.
The hoist is great for getting the spare out of the well, however its not long enough to reach the ground.
Lifting in the 'flat' wheel and tyre from ground level to vehicle is not only challenging if you are not particularly strong, but there's no way to avoid getting wheel dirt on whatever you are wearing (chances are you will be on the way to a wedding or such like). RRS HSE Dynamic SDV6 2014

Are the TDV8 & SDV6 not on 275/40 x 22 9.5J & the SVR on 295/40 profile 10J which might make the difference if a full size SVR wheel will fit or not depth wise.

Cheers
Col

You can definitely fit a 275/40r22 in the spare wheel well but I’m not sure about the 295/40r22.you could always have the 275/40 as a spare,it would be better than a space saver or the useless inflation kit they supply. Andy.

Thanks Col and Andy, that was my concern.

In the end I'm opting for a 275 (not 295) proper wheel just to be sure. At least it will get me to the garage.

Thanks again. 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

The 295 will fit but then the boot carpet/mat won’t sit flat, you’ve gone for the best option Thumbs Up Andy.

Not really much difference in diameter.

Thanks Andy, that's a really useful comparison tool.

I was worried different tyre sizes would put the car into panic mode but my indy said don't worry about it.

Hopefully I won't need it but Sod's law says if I don't have a spare then I'll get a blow out!

Appreciate the comments. Thanks 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

So, the wheel arrived today. Genuine Range Rover Sport 21" wheel with a Pirelli Scorpion Verde 275/45/R21.

I had just purchased the Spare Wheel Insulator (polystyrene doughnut) that sits in the bottom of the wheel well to protect the battery, I think?

With the wheel insulator and 275 width tyre, the boot floor almost sits flush with the floor but the catches won't stay engaged, they pop up.

If it doesn't cause any issues like noise etc then I think I'll live with it.

If it turns out to be a pain then maybe I will shave 10mm off the wheel insulator or even get rid of it completely. 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue
