centre consol protection from small dog

Hi All,

I have picked up a new to me RRS 2015 and as we have a small dog it generally travels with us / on the wife lap so I need to protect the centre console from its claws.

can anyone recommend a vinyl type film or similar that I can stick on and replace as necessary that won't damage the current finish?

Explain to wife that in the case of an accident at 30mph, a 3kg pooch will potentially strike someone with the force of 750kg...enough to splatter the dog and/or kill the person it hits.

I'm guessing that the above advice has fallen on stony ground, as has the fact it is unlawful the dog not to be properly restrained.
On a practical note, clear helicopter tape (you can get it from fleabay) would probably do the job.

a dog has to be restrained in a car ..its illegal and potentially dangerous to have a dog on your lap..

you dont have to be that draconian...a harness attached to the seat belt will suffice..

Safest place is for the dog to be in the boot in either a crate or with a dog guard above the rear seats. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
