well, the problem with number plate cam's, is getting the cable from the light to the top of the tail gate.

The factoory wires appear bonded under the glass.
For this reason I fitted a ball cam in the top spoiler.

And to answer your first question, I like to go behind the roof lining, and down the passenger side

As Andy says, not that easy to get wire out of the split tailgate. Mine is hidden under trim as much as possible then black duck tape where it is exposed does the trick and is not visible. Then, again as Andy says, in the headlining through to the front passenger A pillar.

It’s a 2006 hopefully into the screen as I think it’s the same one as my D3 but just got to work out how to get at it?

Oh do the RR mod ?

Either side of the radio are plastic (or wood panels). Get behind these at the bottom and pull them towards you.
Once that is loose the plastic surround should come out easily, including the bit below the display.

Should the air vents need to come out , then you need to remove the trim to the side of your legs. It pulls towards you and has 3 clips

You need something like this a RCA to Fakra adapter cable, plenty on Amazon.

yeap.

Then you plug it into the brown one.

Don't forget you also need to

1) program the CCF to say rear cam is fitted.
2) cut yellow wire inside it, to say its a full fat RR

Ordered is it the yellow wire in the plug that’s in the back ?
Do I need to power the cam off the reverse light?

It’s best to power the cam off the rear power socket or the Ariel amp blue wire in the rear roof side.

That way the cam still works when manurering forward, until you get above 10mph
