United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Bali Blue

Your right with a gearbox service,, flush at around 75k,,, but that's it, not every 7 or 10k. Suspension,, just make sure it lowers and raises without any warnings,, one press of the button, no need to hold it for 10 secs. 2010 RRS, TDV8
bali Blue / colour coded
side steps / flappy paddles
black perforated leather
22" overfinch
heated everything, TV,fridge ...... now with gold calipers and mud flaps !( black mud flaps that is) !!
Many years ago,,,,, 1955 series 1 landie , sometimes wish I had kept it

Thats half the problem,, not too many places,, dealers being the worst, have the facility to carry out a gearbox flush which requires a special machine. 2010 RRS, TDV8

Well had my first viewing on a RRS today.. First glance it was clean on the outside for an 09 plate with 80k miles. However speaking with the lad at the garage there was no service history it had been lost by the previous owner which is a friend but its definitely been serviced bla bla... looking in the booklet there was a receipt for a cambelt so I asked if both were changed he said no just the front belt as the back one never needs to be changed. Also said it had both turbos reconditioned but no proof. Safe to say I didn't even bother test driving it... on to find another one

There was the odd receipts but none were dealer garages. The air con wasn't working so I asked if I went ahead and bought it would this be fixed and the lad said oh I would have to speak with the boss but I highly doubt it.

If.they are not willing to fix step away...service history can be obtained from dealer but would only include services done by dealer.

Thecrear auxiliary belt which I believe drives the high pressure fuel pump and I am sure it is changed as part of belt service.

If I recall it was changed when I had my old Disco 3 belts changed a few years ago.

To be honest I don't think the lad had any knowledge on these.. I asked about the gearbox and if it had been serviced he said they don't need it as they are a sealed unit,

Before I walked away I was cheeky and asked if there could be any movement on the price which it's up at £10,995 due to the no history, gearbox service and the aircon not etc and he laughed and said no it is what it is with them sort of things and that's the price.

Well done for walking away. There are plenty out there so take your time and find the best you can. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Yes

As RRSTDV8 says..plenty out there to choose from and dont rush.

I have an account with Astonbarclay auctions and there are always a good few up for sale. Some which look very good.

If your interested drop me a pm and I can hwlp you possibly find one from auction and save a fqir chunk at the same time... I am sure if patient we can find the right one from there.

All these independent traders buy their cars from such places...

Dealer i bought my my2016 AB from have upto 300+ cars ranging from affordable to premium marques such RR, Ferrari, Bentley, Porsches and they told me they by some from Astonbarclay

My thought would be that buying from auction might save you some money but it loses you the protection of buying from a trader. Buy from a trader and he carries the can for issues you find early in your ownership. Buying from an auction is no better than buying from a bloke on the street. I guess it's a toss up or risk vs cash savings. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

thanks Ash, appreciate the offer but having bought from an auction before and being stung im reluctant to do it again. as RRSTVD8 says from a trader you get a little piece of mind if anything is to go wrong

Well I finally purchased my first RRS Saturday morning

It'd a 59reg with 79k miles and 2 owners in silver with full black leather
It has full service history 6 stamps were a main dealer and the rest a land rover specialist

They mot and gave it a service prior to me picking it up

I got some warranty on it, on the test drive it drove great and drove great all the way home however yesterday there was a clunk (drivers side front) while on full lock turning left and now there is a creaking noise rang the garage and they've told me to book it in a garage where I live and they will foot the bill as I'm 3hrs away from where I bought it. So fingers crossed nothing much and I don't struggle to get them to pay haha but other than that it's amazing I will upload some pics soon
