Haha ! Very Happy

I knew there would be mixed opinions, one of the dangers of posting about a FFRR on a RRS forum I guess! Very Happy

I fully agree and admit that it doesn't drive as well as the Sport, the performance is nothing LIKE the Supercharged, the noise is totally different and yes, the TD6 is not as smooth as the TDV6 unit.

However, there was a plan at the foot of all this you see, to change out of the SC at a point when the dealer has to pay ME money to do so, rather than the other way round. This I did, and got a lovely car that almost everyone who has seen it in the flesh has thought was brand new.

So, I got a better equipped car, for less money that does more MPG. The plan is to keep it till the warranty runs out in about 16 months time, then probably PX it for a used TDV8 Vogue. I'm not sure I'd go back to a Sport now, I enjoy the additional space and comforts.

The TD6 has it's problems, but once you're crusing at 70-90mph, its pretty quiet and the superb Logic 7 system (which I think performs MUCH better than the Sport, for a start, the Subwoofer actually DOES something Thumbs Up ) drowns out what little noise is left. I don't need to mention the reversing camera, TV, Venture cam, electric extras such as steering wheel, lumbar etc mentioned in a previous post. It IS a nicer place to be.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I was offered a deal on my RRS SE today against a 2005 (2006MY) 25000 mile Vogue SE S/C FFRR in Tonga Green with black leather. It has sat lost and forelorn on the dealer's forecourt since last August and the price has come down from £55k to £50k and they said they could deal at £45k in part ex with my sport, but no valuation on the Sport at present. Problem is I love the FFRR (had a TD6 for 2 years before the Sport) but do I really want 12-15mpg or worse and the possiblity that Gordon Brown and his friends will tax out of existance high emissions vehicles like that, making it all but impossible to sell on a few years down the road. Interestingly the local dealer has 4 Vogue SE S/Cs in stock that have been there since December - they are selling TDv8's as fast as they can get them but the S/C's just sit and sit and sit. Even confirmed petrolheads have been changing to TDv8's they are such good engines. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Some GREAT features

Each day I find something else with the Vogue that makes me smile at how complete it is. Here's a couple more:

1. Total Closure from the key fob (Windows & sunroof closed on locking or, opened on unlocking)

2. Each seperate key holds not only seat/wheel/mirrors memory etc, but also even remembers which CD track or radio station you were listening to the last time the key was used! Bow down

3. I let someone at work drive mine to the pub at lunch the other day and I got to sit in the middle rear seat and even though there were 5 full size adults in the car, I wasn't squashed and everyone loved the space. Plus, I didn't have to whip round putting all the headrests up before anyone got in!

4. The "someone at work" was SO impressed with mine, he has bought a near identical one in Epsom Green, a bit older than mine but same interior. When they get parked up next to each other at work you can be assured I shall be posting a picture. (He already had an Adriatic Blue HSE 4.4V8 but liked the TD6 more) L319 D4 HSE

What a strange person........................................ the TD6 is OK but the 4.4 is soooo much smoother and quieter and more in keeping with the unruffled nature of travel in a FFRR. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Good features - of course putting them on the RRS would affect the FFRR sales. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

That's exactly the problem.... not going to get around that Sad

Like Tim, I can't imagine why anyone would drop the V8 to go the TD6....especially if fuel is paid for! Confused

Must agree with Adam - re the rear headrests in the RRS - they are a pain in the Censored Twisted Evil

I like the FFRR - parents been running one for years - but I've spoilt myself now with the s/c - maybe I should shop around for a good 2nd hand buy on the FFRR S/C ? - apparently they have dropped in value quicker than the Sport s/c Confused

ANOTHER great feature

Here's another one.

Lights on the inside face of the door bins so you can see what's in them at night...how great is that!

Oh, and that reminds me, there's also a tiny light inside the interior door handles so you're not fumbling in the dark for those either, very subtle. Cool L319 D4 HSE

If it helps...

I got into a FFRR Vogue the other day and god it was impressive and so very well built. Ok so it can't go around bends anything like a DR RRS but the thing is like a drawing room in a stately home!

I drove a TD6 first and where my 2003 Vogue sounded like a bin wagon on full tilt, the newer shape '05 MY on is much, much quieter and has much less wind noise, it was a great place to be and makes the RRS seem built to a much lower budget, its really good to have a proper tailgate too especially for shooters!

Then I drove the TDV8 Vogue...
