Clock ticking noise on start up - what is it?

Hi all

On startup, I get a quiet ticking noise from somewhere around the steering column. It sounds like a clock with a regular tick about one per second. Last about a minute and does not happen again.

Dealer "can't replicate the condition". I am fairly sure this only started after an aircon condenser replacement, which I believe meant the whole dash came off.

It isn't causing any problem, but I don't want to ignore a sign of trouble to come.

Has anyone experienced this or have any ideas?

That's because leaving it sat in the yard and not looking at it at all makes it very difficult to do any diagnosis.

Wouldn't be the first time a dealer says "we can't find it" only for someone to prove they've never even tried. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
