hi mate i have just bought a v8 hse with full body 32000 miles kit had tdv6 very flat to a v8 . 95k on the clock is a bit high for me if you dont mind me asking how much is the car ? i would not pay no more than 25000 as at 95k you will have problems not just landrover any car at that milage. thanks lee V8 HSE CRUSADER 2008 BLACK FULL BODY KIT 22" ALLOYS DOTTS 377 BHP EBONY LEATHER SMOKED WINDOWS TV / DVD FRIDGE |

If a car has been well looked after, 95K is nothing these days. If it's done that many miles in 4 years, you can pretty much guarantee that it's been done at a reasonable speed on the motorway - nice and warm with no real stresses. I'd take that over a 20K mile car that's only done the school run for 4 years any day of the week. |

true but at least it will be well run in and yes you are right at 95k motorway miles things that need changing should have been changed by still to high milage as i do 60000 miles a year not in mine company car and im always changing the usual parts . why is nothing made to last now a days . IIRC the 105k service is a biggie including a timing belt change. Might want to start looking around price wise as it sounds like the mileage you do you'll be there in a couple of months. Also try not to grin at other drivers like your demented. Took me about a year to realise I was doing this every time I was in the thing I was jusrt that happy. Enjoy. RRS TDV8 (loving it)

TDv8's dont have timing belts they have timing chains, which dont need replacing.

I own a 3.6 TDV8 RR sport now at 156,000 miles. Main issues I have had was alternator at 80,000 miles (£600 at dealer) air compressor at 100,000 miles (fixed myself using kit on ebay for £60) and then both turbos went at 135,000 miles. Found a great company in Birmingham called "Best Turbos" who replaced both with reconditioned units for £2.5k. I also had a broken exhaust manifold stud that causing a whistling sound that they fixed along with the turbos). They recommend changing the engine oil every 6k which I have done ever since. I bet if you had done this from new the turbos would not have gone. I service the car myself and it is much cheaper than using a dealer. Found a local guy that rents out a car ramp that makes this easy! |
