Preventing a wet cabin filter and footwell

The air intake for the cabin filter is a very poor design on the RRS and the Disco 3/4. If water manages to get past the seal on the scuttle panel, it is able to flow straight into the air intake which sits slightly forward of the windscreen on the one corner. This will cause the cabin filter and footwell to become wet.

Here's a picture from one of the members on the disco forum which shows the problem....

So whilst I was refurbishing the scuttle panel today on my RRS, I decided to cut a piece of flexible plastic and fix it in place to prevent water ingress. It's simply stuck in place with some silicone sealant...

That's good to know Steve. I did think about using the holes but I didn't want to prevent the clips from going back in. I found some opened silicone hanging around in the shed so I thought I'd make use out of it before it goes off. It seemed to stick well, but time will tell. Kev

Sorry I didn’t explain very well. The 2 holes in the cabin intake not where the trim pins go Thumbs Up
