Attempted theft of my RRS

Last night just after 10pm I heard a bang outside. When I looked out my window there were 3 scumbags on 2 motorbikes trying to get my RRS

I banged the house window and shouted I’m coming out. By the time I had found some footwear and got out they were driving off on two motorbikes.

The first one had an iron bar or something similar and one of the other two also looked to have something. They had smashed my passenger rear window which has left deep scratches on door and rear quarter panel which will need painting. The door glass trim is also bent. The upper tailgate switch has been pulled out and the wires damaged and it won’t open now. It looks like they tried to prize the tailgate as there is scratches on it also.

Been towed to repair company via insurance. I spoke with repair garage earlier and I was informed they are getting so many Range rovers either stolen recovered or attempted thefts they are struggling to keep up.

Make sure you lock yours. All the best

Very sorry to hear
These people are the low of the low, but the problem is that they have very little chance of being caught and they know it
Also if they are caught they might get a bit of community service or such so again not concerned

It's the hassle for you to now get it fixed which is a pain in the ar$e
Hope all goes well for you

Exactly the same happened to me last week, smashed the back window and climbed in. A passerby phoned the police loudly, one pulled the other out of the back drivers side rear window and ran off. It's now in the garage being repaired with the insurance company getting a £4k repair bill for the work.

Gutted the dashcam didn't pick anything up as the battery was too low and turned it off.

Bastards!

I thought I was fairly safe with a 2008 TDV8 but if they're going for 2010s then I'm back in the frame.

I didn't bother with a gate to my driveway when I had the new front fence done - perhaps I should have.

I do have CCTV covering the driveway however, (cost about £100 and self installed if anyone's interested) so maybe that will be a deterrent. Robin

Friend is just getting his JCW Mini back after the thieves were nicked in it a month after breaking into his house and stealing the keys whilst asleep upstairs. Their arrest led to another 2 being arrested too.

Also in the Birmingham locale - there seems to be a lot of car theft about there Sad

Three Strikes and Your Out

We have a three strikes and your out. Mandatory jail sentence or persons if they are caught a third time. Personally I would make it one strike and your out. But do gooders have their say.
