Is it an Overfinch?

My new (to me) 2010 RRS has Overfinch lettering, along with Overfinch grille badge. It has what I believe to be custom leather seats which I was told was also part of it being an Overfinch model.

Is there any real way of telling if it's actually Overfinch work or just one of the previous owners throwing parts at it?

From what I can see online, Overfinch stopped actually providing authenticity documentation a few years ago, and simply kept a track of the cars in their system which you can pay £40 for the privilege of querying.

I'm not really bothered if it's a 'genuine Overfinch' or not, but I'd like to know just for my own curiosity.

If you're not bothered, why ask? Rolling with laughter

Overfinch have been nothing more than a body kit supplier since the late 1990s. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Can you post photos?

My car has had some OF tweaks to it but it’s not a pure OF model. The previous owner preferred the Autobiography look so keep the original interior and bodykit but had some engine and gearbox work done as well as wheels and some other minor cosmetic additions. In 2010 they stopped using the words Bespoke Vehicles on the badges so could be something to look at. 2012 5.0 SC AB

I'm aware of what Overfinch became... and as I said, it's more for my own curiosity. If I'm driving round something that says Overfinch I'd rather know whether it's true or not.

I don't have any of my own pics of it at the moment, but the garage still has it up on their website so it you go here: https://www.scarsltd.co.uk/detail/314112/u...tic-oldham

I don't believe it's had anything mechanical done, but then I don't have any experience with RR's to know what is/was standard or not.

Obviously I'm aware they're not Overfinch wheels before anyone points that out Laughing

That's great, thanks Thumbs Up

I've just found the original owners email address in amongst the service receipts etc so I've dropped them an email to see if they can help out with what was done... hopefully they'll see it as the genuine attempt at reconciling the cars history rather than a weirdo stalker approach Laughing

MOH's 08 Overfinch S/C has a different grill, badges, nice alloys and white dials & that's all. My understanding is that you could have a "soft" touch as above or go for more visible features such as different front bumper etc.

I did hear that white dials were an Overfinch signature but that may have changed on later models

The other problem you have is which Overfinch company, as in the time that I have been owning Land Rover products they must have gone under about 3 times. Originally they were bespoke rebuilders and replacement engine fitters of Range Rovers and then became tuners of Defenders where in both cars they offered 6.2litre V8 GM motors to replace the weedy Rover/Buick 3.9ltr V8 from the original 2 door RR. At one time one of the Phoenix companies trading as Overfinch were sponsors of this forum. I believe that they still do their own body kits and wheels but they will also still re-engine a Defender for you - IIRC Richard Hammond has one of their bespoke Defenders. Kahn took a lot of their business with re-finishing modern LR products among other marques 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

The last photo shows an image of Autobiography marked in leather. Where on the car is that? It would normally say Autobiography sport. Also no Logic 7 or Autobiography on the door finishers. Is it a HSE in AB clothing? 2012 5.0 SC AB

Advert say's it's a 3.0 TDV6 HSE, if it was a Autobiography will state AB in log book along with A for being auto, I think a A/B would also have heated steering wheel and paddle shift. The only thing that looks Overfinch to me are the seats and Badges.

Cheers

Interesting, nothing under the bonnet on mine to say it's a A/B just the log book, seats, door panels etc. or are you referring to a Overfinch plate?

Cheers

So, i had a reply to my email to the original owner...

They apparently sold it to a company called Auto Lab UK in Blackburn - and at the time they recall the guy from their saying something about Overfinch.
Having been on their website it looks like they do offer customisations like this.

After reading your replies, i think this is very possibly a HSE in AB kit.

I don't have the documents to hand (waiting for new log book) but this is what Autotrader brings up on the vehicle check - LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SP HSE TDV6 A 2010

So it looks like it's a HSE that's been fettled with by this Auto Lab UK company.
