I’ve got a noise!

Hi Guys!

The wife’s 2006 sport has developed a grating noise which changes when speed increases!
I can’t work out if it comes from the front or back!
I’ve removed all the wheels and looked at the pads and the backing plates and all looks ok!

My question is! Can I jack up either the front or back, run the engine and put it in drive and spin the wheels? Without the car wanting to jump off the jack!

Thanks in advance!

Hi there!, check the brake disc dust shield, they corrode around the bolts (aluminum against Cast Iron) and flop onto the discs, might get away with repair washers if not too bad, or new Shields.
