Do you mean a brochure like used to be given out by dealers in the days before e-everything? They are available for download on the LR website after you have given away a ton of personal data to JLR! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I would say that if you are looking at an SDv6 then be aware that there have been issues with snapping cranks but it doesn’t affect all cars, later SDv6’s can have Adblu alcoholic tendancies and also issues with not allowing the DPF regen to complete which drags diesel into the engine oil diluting it. The DPF issue seems to affect cars driven mostly in commuting situations of stop start motoring. Go in with your eyes open to potential issues, I know 5 people who have recently (in the last 12 months) bought SDv6 RRS’s and Discovery 4’s from main dealers who have been perfectly happy to put in writing that the engine will be replaced at their cost should the worst happen. I would say the versions to really avoid are the 2.0 4 cylinder Diesel & Petrol engines - on paper they have the power to handle the weight of the car but in day to day driving low speed acceleration is not their forte until you are well up to cruising speed and they can be noisy. That doesn’t include the PHEV version, but they are still new to the market.
Check the usual things - matching tyres all round, all the gadgets work properly, look underneath - they are offroad vehicles and can suffer damage that goes unseen on a dealer’s forecourt. Avoid anything with an aftermarket body kit, original is best.
The car was available from the outset with 22” wheels so don’t worry too much about huge wheels. The digital dash can give issues but was also cover by a technical bulletin - they can temporarily die on you. The electronic dipstick can “loose communication” butbusually switching off and restarting will cure that. Batteries need to be in tip top condition to avoid all sorts of dire warnings on the dash but also “Battery low, start engine immediately” messages can be the auto stop/start battery charge being low. I’m sure others will add more. I sold a perfectly good SDv6, 2015.5 HSE Dynamic model last year because the extended warranty specifically excludes the snapping crank issue as a design fault so be aware that the used warranty isn’t worth the toilet paper it is printed on........... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Also check that the suspension rises and drops quietly and that the car doesn’t lean to one side although that seems to be less of an issue with L494’s than with L320’s), the transfer box Hi to Low and back changes smoothly and quietly (even if you don’t intend to take if off road you still want all the bits to work properly when you buy it and on many cars the transfer never ever gets touched). Check that any deplorable side steps and tow hook operate properly too. Otherwise print a copy of the L320 list of things to check as pretty well most of those apply to L494 too.

Spain

Tim had just about summed it up.

If you must have a Diesel, then ensure that the warranty PLUS a covering document signed by the dealer principle states that ANY Power Train issues will be fully covered by the Dealers.

I nearly went for another Sport, Dealer stated, do not concern yourself, everything would be covered, however the dealer would not put this down on Paper. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

Something else - if the car doesn’t have a panoramic roof, check the roof for damage, low beams and barriers in car park entrances can scuff the roof if the suspension isn’t lowered to access height. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
