Wheres my aux input gone?

So I read in the manual there is an aux socket at the back of the centre consol under a flap under the air vents. Ive just stuck a load of music on an ipod and finally found a cable, gone out to my RR and the aux is not there, I just have a plastic cubby hole, weird thing is my stereo has an aux button on it and I realise that is obviously standard on the stereo that's fitted but find it strange that if the option is there that there isn't a socket where the manual says it should be

Any ideas please?

There is no flap just a little storage compartment

Have they all got that storage compartment above the cup holders?

You dont say what year your car is, but mine, a 2007 is in the rear of the car next to the rear vents, all part of the central consul, just not inside or in front. Whistle Previously owned 1999 Disco 2 TD5
Disco 3 HSE TDV6 2007
Gone 2007 TDV8 RRS1 in Buckingham Blue.

How do know if the knocking at the front has been sorted?

You can hear the knocking at the rear better

So have you got a little open storage compartment under the vents? Also when you say next to vents, where do you actually mean?
