Misting windows

Hi all.
I'm just over a month into my first RR Sport ownership.
Overall I'm chuffed with it, but one thing that's doing my head in us the windows keep misting up.
I've taken back to LR and they filled the a/c gas up as they said it was empty but couldn't find any leaks.
I generally put climate on which always turns a/c on and have temp set about 22.
The rear passenger door windows are terrible, my 5 year lad keeps wiping his clear with his hands do he can see out. 😤

Any ideas what's going wrong, anyone else have this problem or us it just me.

Cheers

Have you tried putting the system on recirculate and de-humidifying the air inside the car. If you have a sunroof check the drains aren’t blocked which will make the carpets damp and they can hold a lot of water - check the footwells for damp carpets. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I remember having this problem on a car I had many years ago,, windows used to steam up when the car had warned through. Problem was a leaking heater matrix ( very small radiator). This is usually buried, never to be found, so not so easy to check for leaks. Steamy windows certainly points at a water leak of some kind, and I'm sure there is one located on my particular model,, I would guess yours would be the same. It wouldn't take a massive leak to cause a problem and would probably go unnoticed otherwise. If you could source a drawing of the system you may be able to see where a leak ( if any) may be coming from. 2010 RRS, TDV8

I have LR warranty on it so think I'll book it back in.
It does seem to get worse once the RR has warmed as you say, the climate does clear the front window after a while but never the rears.
Do you think I should book it back into LR and any advise what to ask them to look for without them thinking I'm some sort of expert who knows nothing.

Ps I don't have a sunroof so that's ruled out.
I've not tried the recirculate thing, will give it a whirl tomorrow.
Why does it tend to only happen when it's wRmed through.

Never had any issues whatsoever with misty windows on mine, not even in the worst conditions, it was an aspect of the car I could not fault.

So there must be summat up with yours, sadly. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

I would search for a heater layout,, just for your own ammo if your going to go back to landrover. As I said a small leak directly in the matrix will produce moist air when the matrix heats up. The blowers blow air through the matrix to warm the interior,, along with moist air if it is leaking. If you look on the advanced factors site you will see a basic layout of the heating system for the L320 model just to give you an idea. 2010 RRS, TDV8

Just noticed this appears to be an issue on Velar forums.
They are stating the recirculating vent is not closing properly causing too much interior air to be drawn into the system.
Do you think it could be the same.
I don't have any damp carpets anywhere?

This seems to have a bit air time on the D3 site also. Have a look on utube,, there is a video of matrix removal,, just search for Rangerover sport heater matrix,,, do the same on Google and you will get plenty of pics to look at,, might not be exactly yours but it won't be too different. If you go back to the dealer they should be able to pressure test the system to check for leaks,, lots of hoses etc and not all are visible,, as is the matrix so a visual check may not pinpoint anything. But saying that if it is a leaky matrix that is causing your problem I doubt you would see it anyway. 2010 RRS, TDV8

I think I've found the problem.
Just lowered the glove box to access the pollen filter and where the recirculate flap is.
With ignition on I press recirculate and flap opens.
When I press recirculate again to turn off. The flap stays open.
I can then give it a little flick with my ginger and it lowers again.
However it's not very secure and I can raise or lower it with my finger without using the recirculate button.
I would imagine as this has a rubber seal, it should be a pretty tight fit when not on recirculate, mine just rests on the top of the pollen filter.

Could the recirculate motor mechanism not be engaging the flap properly to pull it closed?
