Ive read a few topics on this fault, i went to open my tailgate and no luck, no motor noise nothing, ive tried to push the tailgate home incase it was not seated correctly, but it seems ok I dont get any door open messages

i tried to unlock the top window. again no luck. im using the key fob which ive used since day one, ive tried my spare key, but no joy.

Is there a fuse or relay that covers this operation, i guess there is but does anyone know their location, i cant find any reference to it. just incase its fuse /relay related, before i have to ask the dealership.

later ill disconnect my battery for a few minutes and see if anything resets. i have heard you can cut through the rear door card plastic to access the main tailgate lock but this seem a bit drastic. Anyone had any successful fixes for this fault.

im a bit worried if i have a flat tyre how ill access my spare wheel. Thanks.

Try pressing the central locking lock and unlock buttons on the centre console, hold them both in together for 3 seconds. This should open your tailgate.

If this works, you may need to reprogram the Land Rover button on your fobs. The owners manual has instructions on how to do this.

Thanks for your reply... just to update, ive solved the problem. I disconnected the battery earth cable for 5 minutes, started the engine left it running a while while i reprogrammed the clock and radio. went to the back pressed lock and unlock on the fob then pressed the tailgate button on the door.

it opened.. what a smile i had.. anyway i found the reason for the none function, a plastic block lego like had been trapped between the lower edge of the door and the seal surround.. preventing full closure of the tailgate.. so ive learnt a lesson keep the crap away from your tailgate...

its working fine now.
