South Africa 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Siberian Silver
Possible fuel leak?

Hi everyone,

For a couple of days now, I get a sniff of petrol when I stop the car and get out. The smell seems to be coming from the driver's side front wheel arch.

I stopped by the local dealer and they put it on the ramp and a few of the mechs had a good sniff & look around, but they couldn't see any signs of leaks.

Could it be the brakes, or something else that is leaking when hot? It is summer here and the ambient temps are in the high 30s.

Fuel consumption is also normal, so it doesn't look like I'm losing petrol.

Any pointers would be appreciated, thanks --

After much crawling around under the car this weekend, I have figured out that there was some ZF fluid spilled during the recent transmission fluid change.

This is what smells like petrol when it's warm, I've never known transmission fluid to smell like petrol before Confused --
