Gearbox flush, worth it?

Hi guys,

My RRS 2014 TDV8 has now covered 63,000 miles.
Seems sometimes to have a lot of rpm without connected drive, a bit like the old days auto's.
Not sure if this normal for these?
Would there be any benefits or down sides to a gearbox oil change?
A company in Kettering is offering it for £280.

Cheers

Your just at the right mileage to be having it carried out and the cheapest option to see if it improves,, price is about right as well. I would be going for a flush ( not an oil change), they should reset the Gearbox also,, can't make it any worse, 2010 RRS, TDV8

There is an outfit called JGS 4X4, based in Kettering,, take a look at there website, just make sure they can do the 8 sp box ( I'm guessing that would be yours) as a different machine is required compared to the 6 sp flush,,, I think! 2010 RRS, TDV8

Your very lucky to have one so close,, I had to travel from Newcastle area to Yorkshire to have mine done as there is no one in the north east with a machine to do it. None of the main dealers or indies offer this service as it's not recommend by landrover. 2010 RRS, TDV8

My old full fat was changed at about 128k so easily double yours. Completely transformed the auto box back to new and all the shunts and slipping went away. Not surprising after that mileage to be fair but LR did say it was sealed for life! Range Rover Sport HSE DYnamic SDV6 Velocity blue 2020 MY

Our RRSS could do with a fluid change. My X5 when I bought it about 4 yrs ago had a shudder between 2nd and 3rd with a stutter every 20 seconds or so when cruising at about 50mph.
I changed the trans fluid and filter and it transformed the transmission.
Just shows how important fresh fluid is..
