LTB00668 Fuel tank slap/slosh parts list

Hi folks,

Does anyone who has access to Topix know the parts list required for the fuel tank slap problem? I’m wondering how easy this is to fix and what’s needed. Local stealer want £800 to do it, so I suspect it’s quite trivial.

I think it’s covered by LTB00668.

Cheers,

I took my mine to the dealer and although they said it was not covered by warranty, they carried out the work for free anyway.

The invoice just said baffle kit but I’ll dig it out later it’ll surely have a part number MY15.5 HSE - SDV6 - Santorini Black

Hi Dobby.
I've been trying to work out this noise from the rear of the car.
It figures it is the fuel sloshing around in the tank.
Is this a common problem and presumably the baffle goes in the tank and acts as a type of cushion? Is that correct?
Is this a job a fairly capable amateur mechanic could do?

It was a warranty job to fix if you complained but isn’t 100% successful and you loose some fuel capacity as a result 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Think it’s a big bag of special sponges which they place in the tank to stop the slop.... it definately works!

If you’ve got a half tank of fuel, you’ll hear it banging and slapping when you move about. You can force it too, by reversing at a slightly higher speed and slamming on the brakes.

Seems to be common enough, but I’m not sure what the complete parts list is yet. MY15.5 HSE

England 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Firenze Red

Hi Guys.

What model years does this effect ?

Never heard it sloshing around in mine unless it's already had the upgrade ?

Is it something worth getting done or leaving if it doesn't cause concern !

Thanks.

This was only the early L494’s. My 64 plate SDV6 I had at the time was prone to it... it was more of a bonk noise when engaging reverse or starting in low gears...it was quite a noticeable noise but only at low speed manoeuvres. I complained when mine was under warranty and they got access to the tank and placed baffles in it which solved the problem.

I fail to understand why the manufacturer won't fix it outside of warranty for free? If its a known issue with the car then they should fix it?

It's not a safety concern, so why would they?

Are you new to Land Rovers? LR these days don't do anything with respect to customer service unless a gun is put against their head. And even then they'll argue the toss. Rolling with laughter 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

We've done a couple. Doesn't cure it fully, but make it less pronounced Confused
