Removing plastic sill covers. Yes or NO

I just purchased a 2009 L320 and have been spraying underside with waxoil..it just has surface rust but should I remove the plastic liners covering the outer sills to check and underseal?

Anyone interested in spraying underseal should read this from my post on Jag forum.

I would remove the rear wheel arch liners, and that short wheel arch protector behind the door, as lots of mud and sand can accumulate in there.

Removed mine recently, surprised how much mud / sand was trapped especially the near side one. An easy job well worth the effort

Remove all liners and sill covers.
Clean
Treat any rust with a rust converter
Prime with a 2 part epoxy primer
Paint with a metal paint.
Lanoguard
Replace liners.

I just got my 12 plate, I could not believe how much mud came out of the front when I took the bottom trim off.

It’s well worth the effort and get it out.

When I washed it the second time water now pours out of the drain holes behind the front cill 👍
