Hi Stumpdok and welcome !

How are you trying to connect to the stereo ? I use the Aux connector on the rear of the centre glovebox and run a cable round to the speaker jack on my ipod, this way the ipod can sit in the coin tray... this seems to work fine, also the volume setting on the aux connector is very low so turn the volume setting on your player to maximum and then adjust via the stereo... D3 LHD - great car !

Have you tried a different aux cable? If the laptop is working then the connections sound ok but worth checking.. when playing from laptop are up you using WMP or iTunes? Never tried to play music via my iPhone as I think this would mean I was unable to access the Bluetooth phone function once aux is connected. D3 LHD - great car !

I have my iPhone plugged into the aux port, playing Spotify. When I use the Bluetooth for calls, it pauses the audio. I don't think it starts playing again when the call ends thou.

The aux port is analogue, it doesn't really have a 'format'. It is a line level input, so you need a device with a line output, or if you are using a headphone output, you need to turn it all the way up.

Tested this more today, if my iPhone is playing when I take a call, it resumes the music after I hang up Smile

I've tried two cables with my iPod and the sound is barely audible. Suspect a bluetooth extender will be the same. I'm going to burn some CD's as that is working a treat!

You can use a headphone amp to step up the gain between your device and the aux input which will up the volume but be careful not to overload the input (you would know as it will sound horrendous). I do on my 2012 sometimes.

The volume on the iPod needs to be turned right up - the max you can without distortion then control the volume from the radio. 07MY RRS TDV6

Not sure if this helps but I had the same problem on my 2005 RRS. I was trying to play an iPod (160Gb classic) through the aux port in the car using a 3.5mm jack from the headphone socket on the iPod but the volume was rubbish.

I then read on here somewhere about using a 30pin(?) iPod connector (the one that goes in the bottom of the iPod) to a 3.5mm jack in the aux port and it worked a treat!

Hope that helps. 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?

Andy, I just used something like this

https://www.amazon.co.uk/AAA-Products-Bett...3.5mm+jack

There are lots of ones available and probably better going for a more expensive one but it gives you the idea.

Here's the Lightning equivalent but I never tried that with an iPhone so can't say whether it has the same effect.

It made a big difference to the volume output! 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue
