Low power from Alternator?

Hi all.
I bought an L320 TDV8 MY2008, and these are the first driving days Smile

This morning while I driving I saw on the Radio the "Low battery mode" message, so I went into the hidden menu for check the voltage.

at the minumum, (<1000rpm) the voltage is 11.5/12.0V above, it goes on 12/12.5.
Checkd also trought the Altox FBH app and I've the same values (approx)

any advice please?

Does it compensate when you load it with Heated windows and blower motors etc? You should see a fluctuation, then stability.
What's your battery history? Known new one of good rating/spec? 2011 MY D4 HSE

With a new battery, you should be seeing a change in volts when switching the loads in and off.
12.5v sounds low when having those running. 2011 MY D4 HSE

The battery is just a bit down and the car's system is reducing the electrical load - one of the first things is low power mode in the radio, if the battery gets lower the sound of the radio will be muted.

Simply give the car a good run and all should be good.

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Bali Blue

I would expect to see around 14.5 V with the car at tickover and no extras running, but I would use a voltmeter direct on the battery for readings. 2010 RRS, TDV8

14v plus..

As above, with engine running 14v plus is what you should be seeing. Be aware that a faulty Alternator can take a battery with it when it fails.
There's usually little warning that it's about to go, and this may well be your heads up. Get a meter on the battery and check the running voltage with a load (fans/heated seats and screen etc.), and also off. Watch the meter as someone switches for you. 2011 MY D4 HSE

The voltage in the system will only be up around 14v for a short period soon after start - when the alternator has put power back into the battery from the start the alternator will lower voltage to around 12.5-12.8v if electrical loads are normal - sounds all normal for a battery slightly down - as i said go for a good drive and all should be good. 07MY RRS TDV6
