Also look at Thinkware, they have Speed Camera Warnings built in.

Yes that’s true but with the screen in the RRS2 mine sometimes take about 2 hours before the gps connects,it usually connects when I’m pulling back onto the drive after I’ve been out for a drive. Andy.

Thank you all for your advice and thoughts,
I am sticking with the one I said as I have taken almost 6 months deciding,
the only thing that was unsure was the rear cameras efficiency with the tint,
I will be sure to make sure whoever fits it does the best job possible to cover
the wires and to give as close to factory look, as I intend to keep the car for many
years yet..

I will give them this as an example of how I would like it to look...

If you fit a Blackvue the lead has a right angle plug on the end which show even less cable, mine is a Thinkware which unfortunatly has a straight plug.

Another thought. The RRS is notorious for dirt on the rear screen. So if you mount it outside the sweep of the wiper you will reduce its effectiveness because of dirt on the screen. Also if you mount it high it you notice it a lot every time you look in the rear view mirror. I found it seemed to be right where I wanted to see distance behind me. I’ve just moved mine to the lower part of the screen beside the wiper but within the sweep of the blade. Robin

I have a Thinkware F800 pro hardwired front and back. I also have the factory tinted windows with an additional tint to make them darker and the images from the rear camera are perfect.

The rear camera is mounted at the bottom of the rear screen so it is just inside the wiper sweep, mounting at the top would have had to be quite far down the window to avoid the dirt. A small hole and a very short bit of cable visable but you would not notice at all.

The front camera is mounted on the passenger side so not entirely central but less obstructive to the driver’s vision, again the image is great and still covers the entire front of the car.

Hi looks a very nice install,
how is it connected to the screen?
I would have put it a little higher so only the actual
lens is visible , but the back looks very neat..

I also notice yours is a RRS2 mine is a RRS1 so I guess
there will be subtle install differences between the two.. ===========================================

I actualy had a F800 pro fitted but as not possible to get a nice clean tidy install due to positioning and design of plugs on front camera I took it back out and refitted my F770, now it's laid in cupboard collecting dust.

Cheers

It is a 3M pad supplied with the kit, I thought about positioning it higher but thought the dot matrix around the black may have stopped it sticking well.

The sticky pad has settled now so the air bubble on the picture has gone.

The cables are just micro usb so you could easily buy alternate cables with right angles of you wanted to. MY19 RRS Autobiography Dynamic 3.0 sdv6, Carpathian Grey, black pan roof, black pack, black 22’s, black side steps, ebony/ebony interior

Tried that, still didn't work as the sockets on camera still to close together and the plugs foul each other so cannot fit them in correctly due to the size of the moulding on the plug. If they had kept the cable entry from the top same as F770 would have been a lot better, ideal if they made a version for r/h/d vehicles as well.

F770 camera fitted, not quite as visually attractive in appearance as the F800, all a matter of personal preference I guess, but able to make a lot tidier install on the F770 in my own personal opinion.

Cheers

Put it on the For Sale section. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

I've got the Blackvue 650 2 channel. Fitted it myself. Others seem to have gotten the cable hidden better for the rear camera. For my L494 i was informed that it is tricky to get cable completely hidden.

I wouldn't be far off saying that installation was very easy and tool used most was a loyalty type credit card - perfect for putting cable behind trim.

Don't seem to be able to access photo's that i've previously uploaded. 2019 RRS P400e Autobiography

One advantage of not having tinted glass is that tailgating drivers tend to drop back when they spot the camera: I might add an amber flashing LED to mine. Wink
